Named after the first butterfly known to go extinct in North America, Xerces Society is a nonprofit dedicated to invertebrate conservation. For over 40 years, Xerces has protected endangered species and their habitats, produced ground-breaking publications on insect conservation, and trained thousands of farmers and land managers to protect and manage habitat. Bumblebee conservation efforts range from citizen science projects and identification workshops to on-the-ground habitat restoration and petitioning for endangered species protection.
